It is reported that about 30% of the world’s population is unemployed. That’s worse than the Great Depression, but it’s now an international phenomenon. You have 30% of the world unemployed, a huge amount of work that needs to be done just rebuilding the society alone. The people who are unemployed want to do the work, but the system is such a catastrophic failure that it cannot bring together idle hands and work. This is all hailed as a great success, and it is a great success - for a very small sector of the population.

Our whole spiritual transformation brings us to the point where we realize that in our own being, we are enough. Ram Dass (via nirvikalpa)

Laugh and be happy. Do not associate yourself with any of the troubles that may be going on around you, for they are not part of you. Go through the day like this, in all that you do, and feel the omnipresent God manifesting Himself everywhere. God is love, love is God, and love is the only way to God.

“What are you doing this weekend?”……”Nothing”……”What are you doing on your vacation?  What activities to you have planned?”……”Nothing”…… My mind wraps around the sweetness of being still, being silent, going inward, breathing in the uncomplicated; the simple, and I question a world that has such difficulty with this concept.  Modern life is fixated on doing  - frantically searching for meaning in surrounding ourselves with a frenzy of activity, as though in this hollow pursuit of filling every waking moment, we will find our purpose, our essential nature; our dharma.
Should every waking moment of our existence be filled with “something” regardless of how meaningless it is?  Filler, not only occupying our time and space, but also keeping us from traveling into that inner world - our home.  This is the essential place where we find ourselves, connect with our hearts, deeper knowledge, and sense of our lives. Having the time to do nothing is a gift, and to fail to pursue it leaves us at peril for searching endlessly for that which we carry with us all of the time - Our personal peace.
